Income in Pakistan and the UK
Many of our clients live in Britain and still have rent, savings or property in Pakistan. We prepare both sides, so the same income is declared the same way in each country and relief is claimed where it is taxed twice.
In Pakistan
- Returns for non-residents and overseas Pakistanis
- NTN registration done remotely
- Tax on rent and on buying or selling property
- Nil income certificates
In the UK
- Self Assessment, including foreign income
- 60-day CGT returns on UK property sales
- Limited company accounts and Corporation Tax
- VAT, payroll and CIS returns
Tax deadlines
The dates FBR expects things by. FBR can extend a deadline by notification, and we tell our clients when it does.

Questions people ask us
When is the income tax return due in Pakistan?
Individuals and AOPs file by 30 September, after the tax year ends on 30 June. The return for tax year 2027 (July 2026 to June 2027) is due by 30 September 2027. Companies with a June year-end have until 31 December. FBR sometimes extends the date by notification.
What happens if I file late?
A late return attracts a penalty under section 182 of the Income Tax Ordinance. You also stay off the Active Taxpayers List until you file, and getting onto it after the due date means paying a surcharge under section 182A.
While you are off the list, banks, property registrars and vehicle dealers deduct tax from you at the higher non-filer rates.
I have an NTN but no income. Do I still need to file?
Holding an NTN does not create a tax bill, but you only appear on the Active Taxpayers List if you file a return each year. With no income, that is a nil return with a wealth statement. Staying on the list keeps withholding tax on your banking, property and vehicle transactions at the lower filer rates.
What documents do you need to file my return?
Your CNIC; your salary certificate, or your business income and expenses; bank statements for the tax year; certificates for tax deducted by banks, utilities or your employer; details of any property, vehicle or investment bought or sold; and last year's return if you filed one.
I have received an FBR notice. What should I do first?
Note the date a reply is due, and do not ignore it. Send us a photo of the notice on WhatsApp. You can also look up the section it cites in our Notice decoder to see what that kind of notice usually asks for.
Do you work with overseas Pakistanis?
Yes, entirely online. We register NTNs, file returns for non-residents and arrange nil income certificates. For clients living in Britain we also handle the UK side: Self Assessment and CGT on property.
